Cindy Cherrington

Cindy has dabbled in different mediums most of her life.  Her mother who was a painter and crafter put her on her course to love arts.  She started out making jewelry and once retired, turned to fusing larger glass pieces. She works a lot with a “tack fusing” technique which fires pieces of glass to the base glass but leaves the texture. Her layering and firing are done multiple times to create the depth and texture of the glass piece which can often take days to complete.   It’s thrilling to open the door each time to see how the piece has developed. After all, it’s one of the only art forms that you “close the door and walk way until the next day” to see the results.

Cindy a born and raised Texan where she lived in Houston until her husband retired.  They recently moved to Fredericksburg with their two dogs.  She says living in the country has inspired her to create mostly landscapes and seascapes.  She’s a member of Lone Star Art Guild and Tomball Art League.  As an award-winning glass artist she competes in numerous juried shows around the country.
